Aspire Gotek Pods

Filling a Gotek pod is a quick and easy process and will only take a matter of seconds once you have the hang of it. Simply follow these 5 easy steps.

1. Lift the orange stopper on the side of the pod to reveal the fill port
2. Insert the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle into the fill port and squeeze to fill the pod. Avoid overfilling and ensure there is a visible air bubble in the pod to prevent gurgling and possible leaking.
3. Replace the orange stopper to cover the fill port. If there is any excess e-liquid on or around the stopper wipe clean with a cloth or tissue.
4. If the pod is brand new, leave the e-liquid in the pod for up to 5 minutes before vaping to ensure the coil is fully saturated with e-liquid. This process is known as 'priming' and ensures the pod does not burn out when you first use it. You do not need to prime the pod if it has been previously filled with liquid.
5. Insert the pod into your Gotek device and you are ready to vape.

Gotek pods generally last 1-2 weeks depending on your vaping habits. Heavy users can expect up to a week from each pod whereas light vapers can expect 2 weeks or more before having to replace the pod. To extend the lifespan of your Gotek pods ensure you keep them topped up with e-liquid, as dry hit can severely shorten their lifespan.

Gotek pods are best used with e-liquids with a 50% VG blend such as nicotine salt e-liquid and 50/50 freebase e-liquids. It is best to avoid high VG blends, such as the type often found in large short fill bottles, as these liquids are too thick and are not designed for MTL vape kits such as the Gotek.

The most common sign that your Gotek pods needs replacing is that it is starting to taste burnt. This occurs as the wicking material inside the pod starts to deteriorate with use. Other signs that indicate that your Gotek pod needs to be replaced include decreased vapour production, decreased flavour, gurgling, or flashing lights on your device.

If you are using a brand new Gotek pod and it tastes burnt, it is likely you have not allowed enough time for the e-liquid to soak into the coil before first vaping. It is important to 'prime' any new pod or coil by leaving the e-liquid in the pod for up to 5 minutes to fully saturate the coil. Unfortunately, if the pod tastes burnt you will have to replace the pod as there is no way to fix a burnt out pod.

If you have been using your Gotek pod for 1-2 weeks and it starts to taste burnt, the pod has likely come to the end of its life and it is time to replace it with a new one.
