Regularly replacing your vape coil is essential to maintain the best flavour and vapour production from your e-cigarette. Over time, coils can accumulate debris, causing clogging and darkening of the vape liquid. This results in the cotton wicking material becoming less effective at soaking up e-liquid, which creates a burnt taste when you inhale on your vape.

How To Change A Vape Coil In 8 Simple Steps

Here's how to easily change your vape coil in 8 simple steps to keep your device performing at its best:

1. Disassemble Your Vape: Detach the tank or pod from your vaping device. Pour away any remaining e-liquid if necessary. Unscrew all the sections of your tank or pod to gain access to your coil (unscrew the top section from the base, remove the glass tube and drip tip).
2. Remove The Used Coil: Once you have gained access to your vape coil, remove your coil from the base. Screw-in coils can be removed by twisting counter-clockwise, push-fit coils can be removed by gripping the coil and pulling it out. If you get any e-liquid on your hands, wash them with warm soapy water.
3. Clean Your Tank: Before using a new coil always give your tank or pod a thorough clean to remove germs, bacteria and debris build-up. Fill a bowl up with warm water and washing up liquid and clean all the parts, making sure to remove bubbles. Dry all your parts with kitchen roll, use a cotton wool bud to get into any hard to reach areas like the tanks chimney and drip tip.
4. Install a New Coil: Insert your new vape coil to the tank or pod, making sure its securely installed to avoid leakage.
5. Prime Your New Coil: Add a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton wicking material via the holes in the coil to pre-saturate the cotton with e-liquid.
6. Reassemble Your Vape: Screw all the components of your vape tank or pod back together.
7. Fill With E-Liquid: Fill your tank or pod with e-liquid to the max fill line, making sure not to overfill the tank or pod cartridge. Your e-liquid levels will be visible through the see-through glass window of your tank, or the transparent PCTG material of your pod cartridge. Wait a few minutes for the cotton to soak up the e-liquid and fully saturate the coil. Optional Step: With your device turned off, draw from the mouthpiece pulling additional e-liquid through the coil. This won’t work with draw-activated pod devices.
8. You’re Ready To Vape: Start at a low power output setting and take a weak draw, pulling e-liquid through the coil. Turn up the power, and enjoy vaping.
